After more than a month, IRCC conducts the Express Entry Draw

It has been more than a month since the last Express Entry draw and the IRCC has issued 3,200 invitations to candidates in the all-program draw.  The Comprehensive Ranking System score was set at 531 points.  The applicants who made the cut will receive the ITAs.

The Key highlights of the draw –

  • ITA – 3200 (All program)
  • CRS score – 531 points

There were more express entry draws conducted these years than in the previous years, and the face of the express entry draws also changed owing to the category-based selections in recent times.  However, there hasn’t been a single Express Entry all-program draw in which 4,300 candidates received ITAs.

What is the Express Entry Program?

After more than a month, IRCC conducts the Express Entry DrawExpress Entry Program is the pathway for skilled workers with the point-based selection of applicants. There are three subcategories - the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) , the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The applicants are judged based on their language ability, age, work experience, occupation, and education. Those with a high CRS score are selected for relocation and selected for Permanent Residency.

The IRCC has also started the category-based selection of immigration. For this year, the IRCC has selected six categories –

  • Healthcare
  • STEM professions
  • Trades
  • Transport
  • Agriculture and agri-food
  • strong French-speaking ability

The above categories are the ones in demand; the applicants in these categories are selected based on their skills and experience rather than only the CRS score.

The first-ever category-based draw was conducted on June 28, in which experienced healthcare professionals were selected. Since then, there have been draws for STEM professionals, trades, and applicants proficient in French.
