What is the express entry Program?

The fastest channel for skilled workers' immigration to Canada is the express entry program, and it has helped aspirants immigrate with ease. The three subcategories of the program are –the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The applicants in the Express Entry pool are picked based on personal credential factors such as work experience, occupation, language ability, education, and age. It is the high-scoring applicants who are picked from the pool.

On May 31, the IRCC introduced a new category-based selection criterion in which the applicants will be selected based on specific occupations.
The Six occupations that are in demand in  Canada in 2023 are -

  • Healthcare
  • Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • Trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
  • Transport
  • Agriculture and agri-food
  • Strong French language proficiency

These category-based selections will help meet the urgent labour market demand and also help the applicants relocate.   This new measure is expected to change the face of the immigration industry in the coming years.
