Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the latest draw and issued invitations to apply (ITAs) to 964 candidates in a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-only draw. The candidates who achieved the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 686 are selected for the draw.
• ITA – 964 PNP applicants
• CRS – 686 points
The latest Express Entry draw is the eighth draw of an already busy month July Month in the Express Entry. The draws in July have alternated between program-specific draws like the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and category-based selection draws. In category-based draws, most ITAs have gone to candidates demonstrating French language proficiency, totaling 5,000 ITAs over two draws. Additionally, IRCC issued 3,750 ITAs to healthcare candidates on July 5 and 1,800 to candidates in trade occupations on July 4.
A high number of ITAs have also been issued in program-specific draws. As of July 18, IRCC has invited 6,300 Canadian Experience Class candidates and 2,311 PNP candidates. Candidates in both programs often already live and work in Canada as temporary residents. The return to program-specific draws on May 30, after a full year without them, aligns with IRCC’s previously announced intention to hold more domestic draws.

Express Entry Program is a selection system of the IRCC in which the applicants are selected for immigration based on their skills. The candidates need to meet the point score requirement in any of the three sub streams of the Express Entry Program - the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) , the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) , and the Federal Skilled Traders Program (FSTP)
The CRS score is calculated based on Human Capital factors such as age, education, occupation, language abilities and work experience. The applicants who have the high CRS score are selected for immigration.
In May 2023, The IRCC added the category-based selection to the regular express Entry draws as per which in addition to the regular draws the IRCC will also conduct certain category-based selection draws based on the occupations that are in demand in Canada. The categories are:
These categories are expected to change in 2025 and new list of in demand occupations is expected.
