The IRCC invites 1500 express entry applicants in the third round of invitations this week.

IRCC has invited Express entry applicants third day in a row. The invitations were issued in the category-based selection in the healthcare sector, and 1500 express entry applicants were invited. The candidates with the minimum CRS score of 463 got selected. It was the lowest Express entry invitation round in 2023.

As expected, the healthcare draw was conducted last week, and the round of invitations this week was for 1500 healthcare workers. The first-ever healthcare draw was on June 28, in which 500 healthcare workers with a minimum CRS score of 476 received the ITA

The Key Highlights of the Draw –

  • ITA issued to the Healthcare sector – 1500
  • CRS score – 463

On July 5, The  STEM draws were conducted, where 500 STEM candidates with a minimum CRS score of 486 got the ITAs. There was a surprise all-program draw conducted on July 4 with the minimum CRs score of 511. The express entry program has three subcategories – Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Traders Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Healthcare occupations in the category-based selection are – 

There are six new categories in the healthcare sector in which 35 occupations are eligible-

  • Audiologists and speech-language pathologists
  • Chiropractors
  • Dentists
  • Dieticians and nutritionists
  • Education counselors
  • General practitioners and family physicians
  • Instructors of persons with disabilities
  • Kinesiologists and other professional occupations in therapy & assessment
  • Licensed practical nurses
  • Massage therapists
  • Medical laboratory assistants and related technical occupations
  • Medical laboratory technologists
  • Medical radiation technologists
  • Medical sonographers
  • Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Nursing coordinators and supervisors
  • Occupational therapists
  • Optometrists
  • Other assisting occupations in health services
  • Other practitioners of natural healing
  • Other professional occupations in health diagnosing & treating
  • Other technical occupations in therapy and assessment
  • Paramedical occupations
  • Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants
  • Physician assistants, midwives, and allied health professionals
  • Physiotherapists
  • Psychologists
  • Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
  • Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists, and cardiopulmonary technologists
  • Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine
  • Specialists in surgery
  • Therapists in counseling and related specialized therapies
  • Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists
  • Veterinarians

Immigrants have played a big role in these occupations. There are 23 %, registered nurses, 36% registered Physicians, and 54% dental technologists. Canada relies on immigration to meet the labor market gaps. As per the statistics Canada, there are 153000 vacant Positions in Healthcare and social assistance sector in April 2023. It is the highest number of vacancies across the employment sector in Canada
