To keep up the good work, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds a new Express Entry draw in 2025. This time, 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) are given to people in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). It was a big deal that the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score for CEC candidates that day was the lowest since September 2024. They had to have a CRS score of at least 518 and send in their Express Entry resume before October 2, 2024, 1:48 a.m. UTC in order to be considered.
There will be two rounds of Express Entry this month. The second round is on July 8. What comes next is the draw for the Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) on July 7. That draw gave out 356 ITAs with a much higher cut-off score of 750. Before that, the most recent CEC draw was on June 26. It also had 3,000 ITAs, but the CRS requirement was 521, which was a little higher. There may be a push by IRCC to accept more CEC candidates since the minimum score has recently gone down. People who have worked in Canada before are usually these people. This is an important part of getting them back into the job market.
As of now in 2025, IRCC has sent out 45,201 ITAs through Fast Track. This shows that offers are sent out at the same rate all year long. Most of the draws (12 rounds) have been for PNP candidates. After that, there were seven draws just for CEC candidates. Other important draws went after people who speak French well, work in healthcare or social services, or have jobs that have to do with education.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been draws for both the PNP and CEC groups about every two weeks. These well-thought-out steps show that IRCC wants to meet specific job market needs while also meeting Canada's immigration goals. For PNP draws, in particular, the CRS standards have been much higher, often going over 700 points. This is because there is a lot of competition for provincial candidates. On the other hand, CEC draws have stayed in the low to mid-500s. However, July's score of 518 shows that it may be getting easier for qualified domestic candidates to get in.
The most recent draw had the lowest CRS number, 518. This means that the way for CEC candidates is easier. Many of these people are temporary foreign workers or Canadian college graduates who just got their diplomas. This focus on the strategy helps Canada's bigger economic immigration goals by making it easier for people who are already helping the economy to stay.
Keep an eye on draw trends and keep your image high as long as IRCC keeps sending out invitations in different groups. Recently happenings have shown how important it is to be on time and have a good score for the Express Entry way. More than 45,000 ITAs have already been given out this year, and more draws are planned for the next few months. It looks like 2025 will be a great year for skilled immigrants who want to stay in Canada for good.
