The IRCC has released the plan for the category-based Express Entry draws in 2025. 

As of now, Canada's Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (IRCC) has said how it will give out Express Entry Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for the rest of 2025. With the new plan, there are category-based draws for trades, education, healthcare, social services, and skills that are in high demand. For those who want to move here, this helps them know what to expect.

It fits with Canada's plans for how many people will be coming to the country in 2025 and 2027. Most of the ITAs that were given out in the second half of 2025 will help reach the immigration goals for 2026. 

Category based IRCC Draws

The IRCC began using category-based draws in 2023 to find people with certain skills and work experience. The ATIP study tells us exactly how ITAs will be given out in 2025 and how many have already been given out:

It looks like there will be a number of category-based draws in the last five months of the year based on these amounts. These will only be used for trades and schooling, which still have big ITAs to use. 

It covers six groups in 2025: jobs in social services and healthcare, trades and manufacturing, farmland and agri-food, going to school, and speaking French.

Francophone  Immigrations

People from outside of Quebec who speak French and want to move to Canada are still given priority by the federal government. To meet the 8.5% goal for Francophone admissions in early 2025, there were eight weeks of draws for people who could speak French well. These draws led to 18,500 ITAs. Then, on August 8, there was another draw that gave out an extra 2,500 ITAs. These should help meet the 2026 goals. 

The ITA's calendar for the provinces and regions for the year 

It is also said in the story that every province and region will get a three-month ITA calendar. This shows which weeks draws are most likely to happen, what kinds of games will be played, and what the lowest scores should be. This helps regions plan and organise how they will run for office at the provincial level. 

In general, IRCC's 2025 schedule makes it easy for Express Entry applicants to see what they need to do. The schedule is based on focused draws in high-demand fields that help Canada's total immigration goals.
