Manitoba PNP Invites more than 800 skilled workers in Provincial Nomination

PNPThis week, 862 invitations were sent to people who are qualified to work as skilled workers through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programme (MPNP). People were asked to apply for both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and the Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. This was how the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway worked. There was a job-specific draw, and this is how the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway worked.

Draw #255 of the MPNP took place on October 9, 2025.

It was the first draw of the month. 862 people were asked to apply for nomination by their province. These were split up into 686 letters. 583 of them were sent to people who already had jobs in Manitoba. Most of them worked in healthcare or jobs related to healthcare, such as in home care, as carers, or so on. People who wanted to apply had to work in jobs that were in the broad National Occupational Classification (NOC) group for health occupations or in the specific NOC group for home support workers and carers (NOC 44101, Broad Occupational Category 3 – Health occupations).

Which programs helped in the Manitoba Immigration?

People chosen through strategic recruitment efforts and going through either the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas steps were given an extra 279 LAAs. Some of these programmes are employer services (45 LAAs), recruitment for the Francophone community (43), regional communities (8), ethnocultural communities (3), and the Temporary Public Policy (TPP) to make it easier for people to join the PNP and get work permits (180). For the second time in a row, the MPNP has given TPP candidates more weight. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Government of Manitoba both agree with this policy. People with skills who live in certain provinces can get open work permits.

Only 203 of the invitations went to people who had a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

If someone met the requirements for the draw but did not get a LAA, it could be because their language test results were expired or missing, their strategic initiative invitation numbers were not valid, or their licences for regulated professions were not fully completed. Regulated workers in Manitoba must keep their licences up to date and show proof that they've done everything they need to do to get one.

Occupational-specific draws in Manitoba are meant to fill open jobs in areas with high demand and keep the workforce stable across the whole province. With strategic recruitment programmes, businesses, communities, and cultural groups can work together to find foreign workers who have work experience, can settle down, or speak French. After coming to the province, these workers can fill jobs that no one from the province is willing to do.

There are still clear paths for skilled workers through the MPNP, which helps Manitoba's workforce and makes it easier for newcomers to settle in the province.
