Second Largest Healthcare Express Entry Draw of the Year

canadaCanada’s IRCC has used the Express Entry  draw invitations to invite large number of people who work in social services or health care.

To invite people to apply, the department sent out 2,500 ITAs on August 19, 2025. This was the second most popular health-related event of the year. To be qualified, applicants had to get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 470 and have their Express Entry profile created before April 23, 2025, 8:08 p.m. UTC.

The Key Highlights of the Draw –

  • ITA – 2500
  • CRS Score – 470

This drawing shows that Canada is still trying to fix its lack of workers in healthcare and social services by giving skilled workers more jobs in these important areas. Every month since May 2025, IRCC has held a draw for healthcare and social services. This is a change from the beginning of the year, when there were none.

What can be expected from the express entry draw this year ?

So far in 2025, IRCC has given out 55,820 ITAs to a variety of groups. That was after August 18's draw for the Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP), August 8's draw for French language skills, and August 7's draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This list shows that IRCC picks people fairly so that they can help Canada's workforce.

In 2025, there have only been 8 rounds of CEC and 15 rounds of PNP. For the Education group, there was one draw. There were four draws for people who speak French well and four draws for people who work in social services and healthcare. On July 22, when 4,000 ITAs were sent out with a CRS cut-off of 475, the most people applied for hospital jobs.

What are the Canada's specific goals for immigrants?

IRCC also looks for people with skills in social services, STEM, trades, transportation, education, French, and healthcare. The focus on healthcare is part of this larger plan. These decisions are in line with what Canada's people need and will help the economy and society stay healthy in the long term.

The results from today show how competitive the Express Entry system is for people who want to move to Canada. The bar is high, with a CRS cut-off of 470, but regular category-based draws make it easier for people whose skills match Canada's top job needs to get hired.

Over the next few months, IRCC is likely to keep moving between general, program-specific, and category-based draws. This is because immigration is still a big part of Canada's plan to grow. Canada still wants to hire foreigners to work in healthcare because it wants to improve its system and keep up with rising demand.
