Two-way Youth Mobility Agreements (bYMAs) allow young people from countries that have IEC to get open work permits that are good for one to two years. That's right, these IEC work permits don't need to go through the LMIA process, which means they are simpler to get and take less time than TFWP permits.
People who want to apply must be from a participating country and be between the ages of 18 and 30 or 18 and 35, depending on the deal their country has with Canada. A lot of the time, people can join the IEC scheme more than once. However, the rules for each country and group are different.
What are the Different kinds of IEC programmes?
The IEC is made up of three main groups:
Each group has its own set of rules, and people from some countries may only be able to apply for certain groups.
You might be able to come if you are from one of these countries. For most of them, you have to be 35 years old. In some places, like Andorra, Belgium, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Taiwan, it's 30 years old. Australia, Austria, France, Ireland, and Finland are just a few of the countries that only let people in once or twice. Other countries, like the UK, let people in up to three times.
Online applications are sent through the IEC page of the Canadian Government. People who have made a profile are put into a pool based on their country and group. Requests to apply are sent out all year long. Before someone can get a work pass, they have to show proof of who they are, pay any fees, and have their data taken.
IEC is a good choice for young people who want to work in Canada because it is not affected by LMIA.
